REVIEW OF SOOTHING POETRY IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH

 EDITORIAL REVIEW BY THE TRANSLATOR

In this collection, SOOTHING POETRY IN SPANISH and ENGLISH, written by Brenda Mohammed, the author includes poems on a variety of topics.
She writes about love, dreams, hopes, family, and the pandemic in which we find ourselves today.
My favourite poem is "The Personal Benefits of Lockdown" because, in this poem, the author manages to see the positive aspects of these terrible times and can appreciate the good that the pandemic has brought out in various family members.
She points out the hope in the hopeless and the importance of not despairing in a time of darkness.
As implied in the poem, there is always light at the end of the tunnel and it is important to carry on with our lives.
The author's optimism is also apparent in the other poems in the collection.
She pens her thoughts on various subjects like making mistakes, women's role in society, human companionship, and the importance of nature and our surroundings.
In one of her poems, she also gives great advice on how to live life to the fullest.
Throughout the poems, the author displays a deep insight into life and experiences that we all encounter in our day-to-day existence.
She attempts to place these everyday experiences into an inspiring collection that makes for comforting reading during these difficult times.
They are written simply and with feeling as the author muses on all types of situations, no matter how banal they may seem.
The author uses material that is not usually poetic and turns them into poetry. Her work depicts an extraordinary observation of normal, simple occurrences. She has the skill of making the mundane poetic.
One example is when she talks about friends sharing a recipe and experiencing a joyous time.
Another example is the poem that talks about her favourite chair.
The chair seems so inviting that it begins to adopt human qualities.
In short, the poems in this compilation are didactic, fun to read, and full of hope and insight.
The collection has interests for every reader and I would recommend the poems as enjoyable reading to help us reflect on our everyday experiences.
The observant eye of the author makes us look afresh at human nature and what we need to experience a true sense of satisfaction in this life.
The theme of optimism runs throughout the collection.

BOOK REVIEW OF SERENITY IN END TIMES WRITTEN BY BRENDA MOHAMMED

BOOK REVIEW OF SERENITY IN                           END TIMES

“Serenity in End Times” is the 52nd published book of Trinidadian Author, Brenda Mohammed. This book is based on the Book of Psalms taken from the Holy Bible. Many of these Psalms were written in praise of God by David a young Shepherd boy who eventually became King David. Of all the Psalms it has been said he wrote seventy three.

The Book contains Psalms 1 - 41 together with commentaries by the author on each Psalm.

Many times we, frail human beings tend to doubt the goodness of God. Some even believe he is absent from us because many times our prayers remain unanswered, and we are left with so many temptations that can easily destroy us.

We need, therefore to understand God-not deny Him or reject His word. When we reject God’s words we do so at our own peril and disaster may befall us. Psalm One says: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly; Nor stands in the path of sinners; Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.”

God answers us in His own time as he knows what is good for us.

In Psalm Four we read: “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing?”

We must all pray similarly.

Reading this book on Psalms with the author’s commentaries, will help us to understand God’s love and grace. They will bring us back to the reality of God, our Creator and Holy Father. We would learn of His goodness, His mercy and His unfailing unconditional love for each of us. We need to pray often and more fervently and ask for forgiveness for our inability to really see and develop our faith.

“Serenity in End Times” is a book to be read now before it is too late, so please acquire a copy as early as possible.

"Reviewed By Lois Henderson for Readers' Favorite
Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories by Brenda Mohammed is aimed at helping the reader trace the line of descendants as far back as to the beginning of mankind, with the story of Adam and Eve. Mohammed, who is a firm believer in the fact that “the Bible is God’s biography written by his chosen ones,” explains, with the help of quotations from the Bible, how the contents of each of its books relate to the whole. Mohammed ends Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories with additional material that provides true value for the reader, including the importance of having our names written down in the Book of Life; the text of her favorite two Psalms, 23 and 121 (which is my favorite, too) and a conclusion, confirming her desire (which she has successfully fulfilled) to write a story of God’s chosen ones from each book in both the Old and the New Testament.
I love the way Brenda Mohammed, in her work Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories, affirms her desire that the stories she retells in accessible and straightforward language will convince the reader of the genuineness and authenticity of their source in divine will. For any newcomer to the Bible, Mohammed’s clear and simple explanation of the primary focus of each book is illuminating. Her earnest and heartfelt urging that “all God wants from us is obedience” is a resounding call to us to listen to the word of God and to obey. In short, Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories is a wonderful supplement to the Bible, although, as Mohammed clearly states, it is certainly no replacement for it."

Multiple - award-winning Author Brenda Mohammed has published 47 books and still counting.
Her hot pick from the Amazon basket is her widely read books HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS: Volumes 1 & 2.
Most meticulous in her authorpreneurship, prolific in her writing craft, and expertise in using the writing analog extensively, using the most recent tenets, is her cup of tea!
I must agree. Brenda Mohammed has written this outstanding book- How To Write For Success: Volume 2, in the most lucid style. It is a very apt book for self-publishing/ indie authors and poets.
She has given detailed information on writing your manuscript, editing, how to fetch ISBN code, and how to format and publish it on Amazon.
KDP's option to scale is very well explained, but you must read the book to find out more.
Let me give you some background on Brenda Mohammed.

BOOK REVIEW OF A ROAD TRAVELLED

BOOK REVIEW OF A ROAD TRAVELLED

‘A Road Travelled: Poetry to delight. is a medley of Author Brenda Mohammed’s thoughts and impressions from her lightbulb moments as she says, rightly.

The varied poems are picked from her amazing life’s journey, poets' sensibilities, and historic moments of ‘World History such as Corona Virus’s murky moments of life.
There seems to be a feeling of doom and disaster as one reads about the millions of death due to this pandemic.
She has written on sundry topics, of love’s woes and jilted lovers, broken marriages, and infidelity. But she has a strong faith that the act of kindness and humanity will be more profane and sacred, under these dark clouds, hovering over humanity.

Brenda’s poems are framed in a ‘Global Space’ as she has been a ‘Globe Trotter’, more of wanderlust, and her light-bulb moments have always urged her to pen poems.
Her persona in poems - has been about flashy destinations from London’s Eye, Buckingham Palace, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Hollywood, the USA, and beautiful Caribbean cruises. So there is a wild chase of emotions.
Her voice is crisp and clear, and her tone is very discerning, keeping in the retrospective of her poetic arena.
Her poems showcase varied styles from the heightened romance and passions- of Romeo and Juliet types: “ Strange Love, ” yet there is a rebuke and one-sided love, which questions and flatters, the ego of the lover.

In ‘Love Is Not A Theory’ she brings out the colours of life very emotionally and describes how shades of love change with the passage of time.
The roller coaster ride of love and fame is forever changing.
Brenda has fashioned this poem in a ‘Monologue ’ style. Love is contagious, universal, and innocent. She gives befitting examples and takes the reader along with her on her journey.
If it frets, the lover’s reaction will also be fretful, sulk, and sullen.
For her, love is enriching, a bond of trust, that doesn’t rust or change with the seasons, nor is it skin deep. There are beautiful analogies made by her and she sure knows the secret of love!
There are voices that speak – love is so fragile, faint, and quiet and yet it gets under your skin! Sometimes her poetic lovers are ‘Prudent’.
The chemistry of the love birds and their mental agony is so well expounded in her love poems.
I must say, she is so realistic and yet emotive. Lovers in her poetry are the people who crave attention. The twinning of the lovers – is like “ the summer to his winter lips ” and “demeanor under his skin” in his wakeful state. Or must I say, I remember ‘Mid-Summer Night’s Tale! William Shakespeare’s Romantic Plays. Archaic but not deluded.
“Grass Is Not Greener” Is a perfect poesy where all is fair when cupid strikes at the lover’s bosom. But when it withers it fades, creates ego issues, and a rift is felt in relationships.
Apologies are hard to come and the bottled feelings lead to disaster and illness.
Her lucid language helps to atone for love and acts balmy on the ruse or fragmented moments. The prolific poetess certainly conveys to act fast and connotes having dopamine. Then resort to anger and guilt.
On the rebound, you may find a better lover, but it may not be any more different than the old lover.
“Dinner Time” - Here the lover is living in a make-belief glasshouse. The lady love is waiting for her lover, or husband to return. As she lays the dinner table for two, she soon realizes she is ‘solo’. The forlorn and feigned feelings in the husband & wife relationship are weaved very diligently, I felt that I was able to understand the rift between the two.
Her lady in love is not deluded she just packs her bags and leaves the home for good.
Brenda Mohammed as a poetess talks through her characters in poems and she confronts the problem. There is no cacophony of the ego and guilt in her women’s persona. Her women come out to be brave in the end, more mature and discerning. I really loved these poems on love.
Isn’t ‘Love’ the ‘most misconstrued’ word?
Brenda Mohammed’s collection of poems, “A Road Travelled” has been published. The Cover Page is very catchy which makes one ponder at that ‘Bulb’ which ignites the fire.
The Cover was made by Mary L Schmidt a famous artist and member of How to Write for Success Literary Network.

Book Review of My Life as a Banker

REVIEW BY SHANITA VICHARE OF MY              LIFE AS A BANKER WRITTEN BY
                    BRENDA MOHAMMED

Reading through the pages of this scintillating book, MY LIFE AS A BANKER, I have been very impressed by Brenda Mohammed's upbringing as a young girl, born into a big family of ten., She never ever lost a moment to learn from any given situation.

She has been a lifelong learner and a winner too.

Her life deeply reflects her 'Presbyterian Church's values and she has taken to the free flow of life, under 'divine guidance.'

I sure recalled Oprah Winfrey's, YouTube Show "My Success & Spiritual Journey, where she quotes her favourite Bible Acts Proverb 16.3 "Lord, Thy God Is A Loving God" and deeply admires Acts 17-28. Proverb - " You are God's Child and Through God All Things are Possible.".

Here I see beautiful synchronicity of life's experiences, times, and circumstances that prevailed. In Brenda's book,.

She writes about her early days before her father rose to the rank of 'Headmaster' of Presbyterian Church Schools.

They had no electricity in their house, lived in a dreary-looking house, and an open yard.

I quote, "My sisters and I played many games under that tree and feasted on the big juicy almonds it bore. There was a large orchard of fruit trees at the back of the house. We enjoyed oranges, bananas, pomcytres, and mangoes whenever they were in season."

Two married Canadian missionaries approached her parents to adopt her.

The husband was the Church Minister and he had baptized her at birth.

Brenda's parents did not grant their wish and they returned to Canada after one year in Trinidad.

Brenda was loved by her parents.

Well growing up, in a small rustic village in the lap of nature, sure gave Brenda a very juberious experience.

She developed a love for family pets.

Her fishing experiences with her brother are so scenic.

Her father took them to Manzanilla, one of the popular beach resorts in Trinidad.

I think that was the beginning of her love for her native island of Trinidad.

At a young age, Brenda's life was influenced by the Passion Play, which the Church Youth Group performed under the supervision of the church minister, Reverend Roy NeehalI (deceased).

She was a member of the school choir at St. Augustine Girls' High School and would always remember Miss Lenore Mahase, the music teacher, who trained her to sing.

Lenore Mahase played the piano beautifully too.

She conducted the choir with her hands and used her fingers to show them how to form the words as they sang.

In the school dormitory, on occasions, the matron allowed them to go to hockey matches when St Augustine Girls played against other schools in Port of Spain.

One of the older girls in the higher form was put in charge of them.

Brenda fondly remembers their school chanted this and cheered the school crowds at the matches:

St Augustine High,

St Augustine High Yiketty Yackety aye, aye, aye!

Show 'em how to play girls, show 'em how to fight,

Yiketty Yackety aye, aye, aye.

Brenda learned most of her worldly gospels from the church, her school life. and when she lived in the school hostel.

She and her husband met at the bank.

She had yearned to meet her life partner, just like any other sensitive girl does.

Her father too had been really worried as she was most deserving and had made strong individual choices in her life.

Maya Angelou's quote is so befitting here "Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope."

Brenda Mohammed's turning point in her life as an 'Accountant'; came when she went on transfer from Couva Branch to the High Street Bank, San Fernando Branch.

ln those days, Englishmen managed most of the branches of Trinidad.

The Head Office of Barclays Bank D.C.O. in the United Kingdom made all managerial appointments.

Barclays Bank owned the majority shareholding then.

She had to accomplish her new skill sets and came out with flying colours, in her ' Computer Aptitude Test'.

These big steps lead her to master further as a Head in 'Foreign Trade'.

Turning through the pages of this awesome book, I definitely felt that Brenda Mohammed's journey from a small-town girl and from honing her job skills from doing ledger entries to head as Relief Manager and rise to the Corporate Level as a Senior Manager has indeed been very remarkable.

In due course of her life, she did bear the personal loss of her most loved ones, but she managed her hurdles in the best possible ways.

I think for her "Work Is Worship."

BOOK REVIEW OF HE IS THE ONE by TIMOTHY PAYTON

BOOK REVIEW OF HE IS THE ONE by TIMOTHY PAYTON

"My review on HE IS THE ONE "A Book For End Times" By Author Brenda Mohammed

When I found out Brenda Mohammed was promoting this book HE IS THE ONE and was reading her posts on Facebook about what it was pertaining to, I had to get this book!!
Once I received this book I was extremely excited to begin reading it and I must admit I was not disappointed after finishing this!!
Brenda touches upon so many things concerning not only the end times that we are living in, but also scriptures throughout this Blessed book for the reader to cross-reference and meditate on the True Word given.
Without giving too much away about what this book is all about I can give you some insights and examples you can expect when reading HE IS THE ONE.
Some of the examples you'll read in this book, Brenda writes about are, God's covenants, the Birth of Jesus, Jesus' ministry, and His parables.
There's a chapter on "Is there an afterlife"?
You will also read about The Book of Revelation, God's Plan for man, and creating a peaceful world.
In the introduction of the book, Brenda quotes John 10: 8-10 "I am the bread of life, I have the words of eternal life, whoever finds me finds life, whoever believes in me has eternal life, and whoever believes in me his name will be written down in the Lamb's Book of Life."
Humankind's greatest desire is to live forever.
God is offering this to all on a platter.
As you continue, the book rolls into how one can learn and also have Jesus come into your heart, have you saved, and develop a personal relationship with Him.
I definitely can tell The Great Lord was working through Brenda as she was writing this book and speaking through her on how to help the reader follow the truth that she was expressing,
For example, those that are familiar with scripture and the Bible can really follow along easily with what she's expressing, and even if one isn't too familiar, Brenda gives simple step by step explanations on the gospel and teachings so you can really get a grip and understanding of what Jesus did.
You will gain some great and insightful knowledge along the way.
Something I like to offer is, as you're reading HE IS THE ONE, have a Bible handy so you can cross-reference the scriptures that are on these pages.
You can follow along and meditate and apply these scriptures to your life that you feel may speak to you as well.
One of the chapters in HE IS THE ONE that may be short, yet was really an emotional read, was the chapter, "Jesus condemned" where Brenda gives you such a surreal reading on what it was like for Jesus before his crucifixion,
She gives a surreal and emotional explanation to the reader.
Brenda also blesses the readers at the end of HE IS THE ONE with some great and blessed Poems to read.
There's a great quote that is included on a title of a poem, that really spoke to me and one should include and practice in their lives.
I wrote it down for me to meditate on every day.
"Those who put everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in everything" by Ron Nelson Jr.
I highly recommend HE IS THE ONE for everyone that is a believer, as well as those wanting to know about the days we are living in and what's to come,
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
I give this a 5 Star rating. Brenda did a great job on delivering a great Book for the times we are all living in!!
Much Love with God's Blessings 🙏🙏❤️❤️
