CELEBRATING WORLD POETRY DAY

CELEBRATING WORLD POETRY DAY

Poetry has been around since ancient Biblical times.

King David, Moses, and King Solomon wrote the

  Psalms.

Poets share ideas, express emotions, and create

  imagery.

And proudly present them to readers in beautiful poetry.

   *

With poetry, we can write about anything we feel.

True things, and even things unreal.

Poetry can take us into an enchanted world.

A land of dreams, reality, hope, and places untold.

   *

Poetry can be used to express something artistically.

The use of rhyme and rhythm contributes magically.

Thoughts and ideas can be arranged in stanzas,

Making the language simple to connect with readers.

  *

Poetry is long-lived, and an important part of art and

  culture.

Blank verse, rhymed, free verse, narrative, and Tanka,

Pastoral, sonnet, elegies, odes, limericks, epics, and

  haiku.

Even Soliloquy, villanelle, lyrical, ballad, and Gogyohka

  too.

   *

When I visited Shakespeare’s hometown, I grew to love

   Poetry.

Like a stranger standing at my door, it waited to greet

   me.

It brought out the best in me and made me happy.

On World Poetry Day, I display my poetry books proudly.

The Organ of Love by Author Brenda Mohammed

THE ORGAN OF LOVE.

The heart is a fragile organ situated within the chest cavity.
It helps supply blood and oxygen to all parts of the body.
It is divided into two halves by a partition or septum.
And surrounded by a fluid-filled sac called the pericardium.
.
It’s called the heart because It’s the center of our circulation.
We refer to the heart when one talks about one’s emotion.
The word “heart” itself means the center or source.
That’s why humans associate love with the heart of course.

The state of excitement connected to love and attraction,
Is felt first and foremost in the heart, that tender organ.
The rapid heartbeats we experience with someone we love
Blood rushes through the veins and you think you’ve fallen in love.

Emotions of love, fear, grief, exciting news all affect the heart.
When you lose someone dear, you feel it tears your heart apart.
We know exciting news makes the heart bubble with joy.
No one should play with the precious heart as if it is a toy.

Why when love is lost one feels blisters on the heart?
Why does the heart hurt when from a loved one you’re apart?
Why does one feel the heart bursting when someone close dies?
The heart is at the very core of our body and never lies.
