ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES II BY TRINIDAD AUTHOR BRENDA MOHAMMED

TITLE: ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES

CREATED   BY:  Brenda Mohammed

FORMAT: Four Episodes- Limited Series –TV- Sci-Fi Horror

LOGLINE: A Caribbean paradise meets apocalypse when a mysterious outbreak linked to the Zika virus transforms dead babies into 51 weaponized zombies and unleashes a massacre at the Carnival celebrations in 2036.

COMPARISON:    Twilight Zone, Frankenstein, General Hospital

Rich Futuristic Settings:  Brenda Mohammed crafts an intense, character-driven sci-fi thriller set in a richly imagined futuristic Caribbean world in 2036. The episodic structure gives it a dynamic, suspenseful edge, making it well-suited for TV adaptation. The story’s high-tech elements, including robots, brain-enhancing inventions, and weaponized zombies, maintained tension throughout all four episodes. The fusion of sci-fi, dark fantasy, Carnival celebrations, Caribbean folklore, and beaches makes the story both unique and immersive, creating a visually stunning and culturally rich backdrop.

Based on Reality: The zombie fiction is purely the author’s imagination, inspired by the 2016 Zika virus outbreak, and where Good triumphs over Evil.

Strong Character Arcs: The protagonist, Dr. Steven Sharpe, undergoes a profound transformation, evolving from a victim to a hero. He was raised by the very man who destroyed his family—Bill Grady, the corrupt Chief of Police. Yet instead of becoming a monster, Steven became a compassionate healer and the island’s hero. The antagonist, Bill Grady (Zeeka), is a psychologically complex character, adding depth to the conflict.  Known to his undead army as Master Zeeka, he is the Architect of Chaos. Cold, calculating, and consumed by vengeance, he is the embodiment of twisted genius. He kidnapped Dr. Steven Sharpe when he was seven, changed his name to Jason Stephens, threatened to kill his family if he escaped, sent him to medical school, and used him to create a vaccine for pregnant women with the zika virus. When the vaccine was rejected by the Gosh Hospital, he bribed a Government official to give him the dead babies and used the vaccine to create zombies.

Episode 1.  Dr. Raynor Sharpe witnesses a chilling sight outside his beachfront home, zombies marching in unison, only to vanish moments later. Soon after, a lone zombie known as Number Nine arrives at Gosh Hospital, warning Dr. George Brown of an impending massacre orchestrated by his enigmatic Master Zeeka. He said that Zeeka, fuelled by revenge, seeks retribution for the events of 2016, when Dr. Brown refused a vaccine that could have saved unborn babies from microcephaly, a disease linked to the Zika virus. His wife perished in childbirth, and his new-born did not survive. Fast forward to February 2036, and chaos unfolds. Fifty-one lethal zombies, disguised as a sailor band, infiltrate the Carnival celebration. With transponders controlling their fake heads, they unleash destruction, leaving 125 dead and 75 severely injured before disintegrating into ash. Police suspect Number Nine perished in the shootout with the other lethal zombies.  Dr. Raynor Sharpe and Dr. Janet Jones marry.

Episode 2. Detective Jack Wildy stumbles upon a flash drive holding shocking evidence. Master Zeeka is none other than Chief of Police Bill Grady. At the same time, Dr. Jason Stephens, hiding deep secrets, hands over another flash drive to Janet, asking her to deliver it to Raynor. The drive confirms his real identity. He is Dr. Steven Sharpe, Raynor’s long-lost brother, who was kidnapped by Bill Grady [Zeeka] forty years ago. Determined to expose the truth, Janet plays a key role in reuniting the brothers and unveiling Zeeka’s real identity. As the investigation deepens, police discover evidence that nine flesh-eating zombies lived in Grady’s basement, triggering a massive manhunt for Grady and his monstrous creations, who were hiding in the forest.

Episode 3.   As the manhunt for Grady intensifies, he abandons his zombies in the forest and makes his way to Dr. Raynor Sharpe’s home in search of Steven Sharpe.  However, his plan is cut short when Miranda, Janet’s wonderful robot helper, spots him with a gun. With a swift display of taekwondo skills, she captures him and alerts the authorities. Grady is charged with over 200 crimes, to which he confesses. In a desperate plea, he asks to meet Steven, revealing his twisted past, claiming he was once engaged to Margaret Sharpe, Steven’s mother, before she left him for another man. Convinced that Steven is his biological son, he kidnapped him all those years ago. But Steven rejects his claim and refuses to forgive him. Grady takes his own life in prison. His ashes are handed to Steven, while the police use Grady’s high-tech weapons to shrink and destroy his remaining zombies.

Episode 4.  The finale. Number Nine is alive. Mandy’s robot assistant, Eve, discovers him in Steven’s backyard, where Grady’s ashes were buried. He collapses from an epileptic seizure, and Eve alerts Gosh Hospital. Tests confirm that Number Nine is not a zombie, but Bill Grady’s biological son, misdiagnosed with microcephaly. Raynor helps him choose a new name, Nieman Grady. Steven’s brilliance shines once more as he cures Nieman’s brain ailment, Craniosynostosis, with his breakthrough CrainX invention. His medical contributions redefine the island’s identity, transforming Carnival Tourism into Medical Tourism, securing his place as Gosh’s ultimate hero.

Here are the judge's comments:
Hi Brenda,
Thanks again for submitting Zeeka and the Zombies to the 13Horror.com Film & Screenplay Contest.
It stands out for its unique blend of genres and vivid setting. I particularly enjoyed the richly imagined futuristic Caribbean world in 2036. The way you fused sci-fi elements with dark fantasy and Caribbean folklore created a backdrop that was both unique and deeply immersive. This setting, with its advanced technology, really anchored the story in a distinctive environment. Very creative!
You've worked in several well-executed plot developments that kept the tension high throughout. The revelation that Chief of Police Grady was the true mastermind was pulled off really nicely. The touching twist when it was revealed that Zeeka, despite his villainy, had not activated the killer gadgets in Number Nine's false head, subtly wishing for his son to live, also caught me quite off guard.
Your screenplay delivers on several horror fronts. The gruesome scene during the Carnival massacre, vividly depicting the (splendidly specific) 125 deaths and 75 severe injuries, with descriptions of blood-splattered areas and severed body parts, was a delight!
Overall, Zeeka and the Zombies is a compelling and ambitious work that successfully weaves together a complex narrative with strong characters and memorable horror elements. There are moments of humor, witty dialogue, and light-hearted interactions woven into the narrative, which made it a very entertaining read.
Best regards,
Andrew

GRIPPING AND ORIGINAL AND TOTALLY UNFORGETTABLE ZOMBIE THRILLER

I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled to receive this email in my inbox this morning about my zombie thriller, ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES. Thank you, Kenny Jerome.
GRIPPING, ORIGINAL, AND TOTALLY UNFORGETTABLE
ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES BY BRENDA MOHAMMED
Dear Ms. Mohammed,
I just finished Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies, and I wanted to personally thank you for such an imaginative and thrilling read! As someone who has seen the zombie genre explored in countless ways, I was blown away by how fresh and creative your story felt. You’ve built something that’s part sci-fi mystery, part horror, and part medical thriller with a totally futuristic twist.
The eerie atmosphere and fast-paced storytelling reminded me of vintage sci-fi films but with a modern heartbeat and a strong narrative core. Dr. Raynor Sharpe and Janet were such compelling characters, and I really enjoyed how their relationship grounded the story emotionally amidst the chaos.
I especially appreciated how Zeeka and the Zombies is not just about mindless terror, it's about strategy, secrets, and something deeper lurking behind the mask of revenge. The “zombies” in your world are not just creatures; they're messengers, pawns, and part of a larger, more sinister plot that I can’t wait to unravel further.
You managed to pack so much into this novella without sacrificing tension or character depth. I’m already diving into the next books in the series.
Zeeka has officially hooked me.
Thank you for crafting such an original and thought-provoking twist on the undead. Keep writing, we're out here reading and loving it!
Warm regards,
Kenny Jerome

WAS HE REALLY A ZOMBIE AND WAS HE SPEAKING THE TRUTH

I am sharing with you one of my bestsellers for your reading pleasure.

REVENGE OF ZEEKA - ZEEKA AND THE ZOMBIES is Book 1 in a horror mystery thriller series about futuristic zombies and their clever Mastermind Zeeka.
.A zika virus outbreak is the start of the island's troubles.
Twenty years later terror stalks the island.
It’s the year 2036, and it’s a high-tech world.
Dr. Raynor Sharpe saw zombie-like men with small heads walking on the beach.
Was he dreaming or was it a reality?
He received a call from Dr. George Brown of the Gosh Hospital where he works. Upon his arrival, he is surprised to hear Dr. Brown say that a zombie visited him, he sedates him and places him in Room Nine.
He had no name and he called him Number Nine.
The zombie told Dr. Brown that his Master was Zeeka and there were fifty others like him planning an attack on the hospital.
The mystery deepens when Number Nine disappears from the hospital.
Was he really a zombie and was he speaking the truth?
The plot thickens when Janet’s wedding invitation reveals that her fiancĂ© is Dr. Jason Stephens, who the police suspect of being Master Zeeka.
Jason calls off the engagement with Janet and disappears.
Raynor finds Janet and finally proposes to her.
Did she accept?
Did the police find Zeeka?
Read a review from an ardent fan:
"This was such a fun read. The reading world is crammed with zombie stories, but I'll bet you haven't read one like this. It had the feel of an old black-and-white sci-fi movie, which I love, blended with modern themes and a more modern medical aspect.
Considering the length, I was surprised by how much was packed in it as things zipped along. I loved Janet and Raynor, and their relationship was a nice addition. I'm curious to learn more about the 'zombies' and Zeeka in the next parts."

Kindle Five Book Science Fiction Series for Zeeka and the Zombies

Top review from the United States for Revenge of Zeeka five-book series written by Brenda Mohammed.
A. J.
5.0 out of 5 stars Zeeka-licious
Reviewed in the United States.
I read these five books in the Revenge of Zeeka Series and I was indeed thrilled.
These stories are indeed mind-blowing and I would love to see them as a TV Series.
Set in the year 2036 these science-fiction reads are very unusual, and unlike any zombie stories, I have read.
They are filled with morals and life lessons and are great reading for the young generation of today.
I am a fan of the author and I am proud to have these books, which I bought from her home store in my library.
I recommend them to everyone.
The Kindle five-book series costs only $4.95.
