TRUE POWER OF LOVE BY BRENDA MOHAMMED

Miracles occur in our lives every day and we take them for granted. Waking up to a new day, is in itself a miracle. When a woman gives birth to a newborn babe, it is a miracle. Recovering from a dreaded illness is also a miracle. A miracle is defined as that which causes wonder and astonishment, being extraordinary in itself, and amazing, or inexplicable by normal standards.

True Power of Love: Miracles of Jesus’ is my 50th publication and my 4th Christian book.

It is a book of poetic verses about the miracles performed by Jesus Christ, that were beyond the reach of human action and natural causes.

Jesus Christ came to earth to fulfil God’s new covenant.  At the Last Supper with his disciples, Jesus raised his cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you."  [Luke 22:20]

Through the power of God, Jesus healed the sick, walked on water, raised the dead, calmed the sea, and turned water into wine. Those miracles fulfilled ancient prophecies, demonstrated His Divinity, and validated who He said He was.

He gave his life as an atonement for our sins, so that we may have eternal life in God’s kingdom. All these things show Jesus Christ's infinite compassion, and the true power of his love for us.

I named this book ‘True Power of Love’ because, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13]

The four Gospels recorded 37 miracles of Jesus, with Mark's Gospel recording the most.

 35. Jesus restores sight to Bartimaeus in Jericho [Mark10:46-52]

 36. Jesus withered the fig tree on the road from Bethany [Matthew 21:18:22]

 37. The second miraculous catch of fish at the Sea of Tiberias. [John 21: 4-11]

Jesus’ birth, referred to as The Immaculate Conception, because he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and given birth to by a virgin, is indeed a wondrous miracle.

Another miracle was when John the Baptist baptized him at the River Jordan, the heavens opened, “and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” [Luke 3:22]

Yet, another great miracle witnessed by Peter, James, and John was the Transfiguration of Jesus described in Matthew 17: 1-8.

“After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John, the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.  There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.  But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”  When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.”

The greatest miracle of all was the Resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion. He moved away the stone that sealed the tomb, folded his clothes neatly, and appeared to his disciples. That was indisputable proof that He was the Son of God.

In Luke 24: 49, Jesus told his disciples, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Fifty days after His Resurrection, and after His Ascension, on the day of Pentecost the disciples were together in a house in Jerusalem.

Suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind that filled the house in which they were sitting. Cloven tongues like fire appeared and sat upon each of them. They were immediately filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues. [Acts 2: 1-4]. That was the start of God’s Church, and another great miracle.

The last book in the Bible is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants, things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.”  [Revelation 1: 1]

Jesus was the Revelator, and in The Book of Revelation, He is referred to as “First begotten of the dead, The Prince of the Kings of the earth, and Alpha and Omega.”

In Revelation 22: 16 Jesus said, “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

The theme of Revelations is that Jesus wins and Satan loses.

When Jesus started his Ministry at age 30, the very first miracle He performed was in Cana, when He went with his mother to attend a wedding.

When I visited Paris in 2013, my family and I visited the Louvre Museum to look at the fabulous paintings and artwork of world famous artists.

‘The Wedding Feast at Cana’ by Veronese was the largest painting in the Louvre. I bought a copy of that painting and the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world, from the Louvre’s shop downstairs of the museum. I used a copy of ‘The Wedding Feast of Cana’ for my first poem in this book.

There is no doubt about it. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is known by many names as follows:

Prince of Peace

Saviour

Messiah

Redeemer

Bread of Life

Lamb of God

Alpha and Omega

Revelator

Creator

Word of God

The Great Physician

Son of God

Only Begotten Son

Beloved Son of God

Son of Man

Son of David

Son of the Living God

Master

Lord

The Rock

First Begotten of the dead

The Bright and Morning Star

The Root of the Offspring of David

The Prince of the Kings of the earth,

The Way, The Truth, and The Life

Which other Deity has so many sacred qualifications and sits on the right hand of God?

The apple of God’s eye is Jesus, the true Israel, and His followers are the Israel of God (Galatians 6:16).

"Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written." [John 21:25]

I can personally testify that Jesus has saved me from near death on many occasions. My testimony is in the back pages of the book on AMAZON.

I trust that my readers will be blessed by these poetic verses of True Power of Love:  Miracles of Jesus, and will recognize the true power of His love.
