Brenda Mohammed’s life story is a tapestry of resilience, passion, and transformation. As a renowned author, poet, and literary advocate from Trinidad and Tobago, Brenda’s journey has been anything but ordinary. From her early days as a trailblazing banker to becoming a multi-award-winning author, her path has been marked by significant milestones, personal triumphs, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others through the power of words.

The Origins of Brenda Mohammed's Literary Journey

Brenda Mohammed’s life began in a way that many would describe as traditional. She entered the banking industry at Republic Bank Limited, rising from an entry-level clerk to Commercial Credit Manager. Her visionary leadership helped transform rural communities into thriving towns, contributing to the economic development of Trinidad and Tobago. It was in this phase of her career that Brenda built the foundation for her success: a deep understanding of community-building, strategic thinking, and leadership.

Yet, it was an unexpected life event that would radically alter the course of her life. Diagnosed with cancer, Brenda faced a life-threatening challenge that many could not survive. However, her resilience became the hallmark of her character. After winning her battle with cancer, she wrote her memoir, I Am Cancer Free, which not only became a bestseller but also garnered international acclaim. This book marked the beginning of her literary career, one that would ultimately see her publish 67 books, spanning a variety of genres, from memoirs and self-help to romance, mystery, science fiction, and poetry.

A Transformation in More Ways Than One

Brenda’s literary career took off following her remarkable recovery, but her rise wasn’t without challenges. With no prior experience in the literary world, Brenda had to navigate the intricacies of publishing, marketing, and establishing herself as an author. Yet, her banking background served her well; her strategic mind, work ethic, and commitment to quality were the driving forces behind her success.

Her acclaimed sci-fi thriller Zeeka Chronicles, which was adapted into a five-part screenplay for film or television, stands as one of her major accomplishments.  Her screenplay ‘Zeeka and the Zombies’ was a finalist in the Horror.com Film* Screenplay Contest, with judges from Hollywood. This success was not just a personal triumph but a beacon of inspiration for many aspiring writers who follow her.

Brenda's ability to seamlessly blend genres, from memoirs to science fiction, reflects her versatility and creativity as an author.

But Brenda’s achievements did not stop at writing. She has received numerous prestigious accolades for her literary contributions. Her book Zeeka Chronicles earned a gold medal in the Reader’s Favorite International Awards, and I Am Cancer Free also took home an award in the same competition. Additionally, she received recognition from CIESART Spain for her Barry Holmes Mysteries, including the esteemed Plato Award and Socrates Award. As if that weren’t enough, Brenda’s How to Write for Success has been praised for its comprehensive guidance for writers, critics, and editors, further cementing her status as a leader in the literary world.

Brenda’s Advocacy: Writing for Change

Brenda’s literary achievements are impressive, but it is her advocacy work that truly sets her apart. She has always used her platform to speak out against issues that matter to her, peace, domestic violence, human trafficking, drug addiction, and suicide prevention. She serves as a Peace Ambassador for the Iqra Foundation in India and is the National President of CIESART, an international organization for writers and artists based in Spain.

Beyond her professional and humanitarian contributions, Brenda has been a guiding light for writers around the world. She is the founder of the How to Write for Success Literary Network, an initiative that empowers writers through mentorship, anthologies, and magazines. Through this network, Brenda continues to nurture the next generation of writers, inspiring them to believe in their creative potential and share their stories with the world.

She has received gold medals for her work in the Connection Emagazine Readers’ Choice Awards and continues to be celebrated for her contributions to the literary world. Brenda was also nominated for the prestigious Woman of the Year Award 2025 by CIESART International, with the winner to be announced at a gala in Spain in December 2025.

THE MIRACLE OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST

BOOK REVIEW FOR CHRISTMAS MESSAGES BY BRENDA MOHAMMED

Your beautiful collection, Christmas Messages: Inspiring Poetry, warmed my heart with both joy and reverence. In a world that often rushes through the season of Christmas in pursuit of celebration without reflection, your words call us back to the stillness, to the sacred heartbeat of what it truly means to rejoice in Christ's coming.
From the very first poem, it's clear that this book is more than a collection of verses; it's a ministry wrapped in rhythm and light. You remind readers that Christmas is not simply a season but a story, the story of God's greatest gift, His Son, given out of pure love for humanity.
Through your poetry, you bring that message to life again, not as distant theology but as a living truth that breathes hope into weary hearts.
There is something profoundly comforting in the way you write. You capture not only the miracle of Christ's birth but the wonder of His presence, how the manger became a doorway for divine love to enter our human experience.
Each line feels like an echo of the angelic proclamation that first filled the Bethlehem sky: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
What touched me most is how Christmas Messages does what Christmas itself was meant to do: unite hearts across boundaries of age, culture, and circumstance through the shared story of redemption.
Your poetry rekindles the childlike awe that lives inside us all, the part that still believes in light overcoming darkness, in faith that restores, and in love that never fails. Your book is a beautiful reminder that Christmas is not about perfection or performance, it's about presence; God's presence with us.
Through your poetry, you've given readers a chance to pause, to breathe, and to remember that amid the noise of the season, there is a still, holy night that changed everything.

A GIFT OF LOVE IS A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS

#RomanceMysterySuspense

I wrote my third screenplay based on my romance novel A GIFT OF LOVE.

THE GIFT OF LOVE

Love, mystery, and resilience intertwine in The Gift of Love, a captivating tale set against the vibrant backdrop of the Caribbean. This screenplay, written by Brenda Mohammed, takes readers on an emotional journey through the trials and triumphs of Crystal Rice, a young woman torn between her undying love for Barry Holmes and her duty to fulfill her dying father’s last wish.

The Gift of Love is a story about the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. Crystal’s journey is one of heartbreak, betrayal, and redemption as she navigates the complexities of family loyalty, societal expectations, and her own desires. From the suspenseful moments of a life-threatening cave exploration to the tender reunion of a mother and her kidnapped daughter, this romance story is a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

Set on a picturesque Caribbean island, the story is brought to life with vivid imagery and compelling characters. Barry Holmes, the dashing hero, embodies courage and determination, while Crystal’s unwavering love for her daughter and her fight for justice showcase her resilience. The twists and turns of the plot, including conspiracies, betrayals, and a heartwarming conclusion, make this story a gripping read.

Brenda Mohammed masterfully weaves themes of love, sacrifice, and hope into a narrative that resonates deeply with readers. The Gift of Love is not just a romance or a mystery—it is a celebration of the enduring power of love to overcome even the darkest of circumstances.

As you delve into this story, prepare to be moved, inspired, and reminded that love, in its truest form, is the greatest gift of all.

The book is available on Amazon in Kindle, Paperback, and Audiobook formats.

BREAK THE SILENCE VOLUME III IS A CALL TO CONSCIENCE

A GLIMPSE INTO BREAK THE SILENCE VOLUME III

Break the Silence – Volume III is the third anthology in a three-book series. The first two volumes speak out against domestic violence. Volume III is a powerful anthology that unites voices from over 30 countries in a global literary uprising against human trafficking, drug addiction, and domestic violence. Each poem is a candle lit in the darkness, illuminating the pain, resilience, and hope of survivors and advocates alike.

Under Brenda Mohammed’s visionary leadership, the How to Write for Success Literary Forum transforms verse into activism. Contributors wield their pens to confront the silent suffering that plagues communities worldwide. The result is not just a book, it’s a movement.

Whether you're sipping tea or stirring hearts, this volume invites readers to listen deeply, reflect courageously, and most importantly, break the silence.

Human trafficking is a serious crime that abuses people's fundamental rights and dignity.

Drug addiction, also called substance use disorder, is a disease that affects a person's brain and behaviour and leads to an inability to control the use of a legal or illegal drug or medicine.

Domestic abuse, also called "domestic violence" or "intimate partner violence", can be defined as a pattern of behaviour in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner.

It is time to break the Silence and raise awareness of these deadly evils.

Poets from Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Iraq, India, Italy, Lebanon, Liberia, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, and the USA participated in this Anthology.

Under the banner of the How to Write for Success Literary Network, of which Brenda Mohammed, from Trinidad and Tobago, is the Founder, this volume transforms poetry into activism.

All three versions – Kindle, Paperback, and Audiobook are available on all Amazon platforms.
